Con dao, paradise of natural beauty
Con Dao is the name of the offshore archipelago of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in Southeastern of Vietnam, including the main island of Con Son and 15 other small islands with total area of 76km2, is one of 21 national tourism sites of Vietnam.
Large island of Con Son ( also known as Con Dao) with an area of 52km2 is only inhabitant with 6000 residents. 15 others small islands are uninhabited. Con Dao is the world of primitive forest and marine biodiversity conservation, home to the bird species, manatees, turtles, dolphins and exotic coral reefs.
Sapphire blue sea water and fine white sand often make visitors not believe in their eyes. Tourists would enjoy nice beaches, great swimming and snorkeling opportunities and a very relaxed, colonial feel to them. Con Dao has the best diving in Vietnam. You can dive most times of the year as there are 16 islands to choose from and you can get good visibility pretty much most of the year.
Con Dao is 199 km from Vung Tau which takes about 12 hours to go by sea and 45 minutes by flight from Ho Chi Minh city. Con Dao is not only for scientists with research purposes but also a haven of relaxation and nature explore .

Hero Vo Thi Sau’s tomb is always full of flowers and incenses. Hang Duong cemetery is the resting place of more than 20,000 people who were killed during 113 years of brutal prison systems.
For now at least, Con Dao is a paradise off the beaten track with beautiful beaches and hidden lagoons.
