Cu Chi Tunnels
Jump back in time and explore the maze of tunnels where the Vietnamese soldiers could escape bombings, hide from enemy, and mount surprise attacks.
Back in 1948, it was used to link villages, hide and fight the French. Later in the 1960’s the Viet Congs enlarged the tunnel system during the American War.
When you arrive in the site, first watch a short video about the place to understand how the 200m tunnels system was working. Discover the underground life invisible from outside: hospitals, meeting rooms, multi-level sleeping quarters, trap doors, smokeless kitchens, air raid shelters, weapons factories, strategy rooms and even entire underground villages with theaters and movie halls. Put yourself in Vietnamese’s soldiers shoes and be ready to crawl for 100 meter!
Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers.
Asia Top Travel can arrange your tour, including the 2-hour transfer through the pleasant countryside from and to Ho Chi Minh City, a guided tour of the tunnels and a lunch at a local restaurant. A half-day visit to the tunnels is enough to discover the place, so we can include a half-day city tour back in Ho Chi Minh City or another excursion to make the most of the day.
